Flexibility, communication and trust are three qualities that should weigh heavily on your list of expectations when hiring a company to help with your move.

It’s important to ask some key questions first before committing to anything. Before you get into any form of serious business, try asking these questions: Can they offer the service that you need? Could their geographic location affect your resources and services? Will the company do what you want or does it matter?

Are you licensed and insured?

Many of the scams that involve moving companies are frustrating and expensive. Rogue movers often claim to have a lot of experience and expertise, but in reality they are anything but qualified. To avoid getting scammed out of your hard-earned money or valuable possessions, it’s important that you take the time to check whether the moving company or company you’re interviewing with is licensed and insured. All reputable professional mover companies should be fully licensed and insured. If the moving company or company you’re interviewing doesn’t provide their license and insurance information, then there may be a reason why. Trusted company moves will readily provide any needed credentials before accepting your business request.

What kind of services do you offer?

Don’t just assume that all varsLocationName, FL residential movers offer the same services. Each company is different and the services they’ll provide vary; for example, one residential moving company might only transport your items after you’ve done some packing, while another might offer packing services and will provide packing supplies. Make sure you know exactly what kind of service you’re getting before asking each company for a detailed overview in writing.

How long have you been in business?

It can be hard to find trusted and proven moving services, but we know that many people want them especially when they’re moving. It’s important to hire a company that has extensive knowledge in the industry, so you know it will be done right. Port Salerno is a census-designated place (CDP) in Martin County, Florida, United States. The population was 10,091 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Port St. Lucie Metropolitan Statistical Area.

In the 1920s, a small settlement was created in the southern shores of St. Lucie river inlet. It was named “Salerno” because of its visual resemblance to the Italian city of Salerno as observed by an early visitor. Early settlers were fisherman who lived along the banks of the Manatee Pocket, a small natural bay in the St. Lucie River. Some decedents of these original settlers remain in the area with some owning family land for over 100 years.

The area increased in population and importance after World War II, with many people from the northeastern United States moving to Florida. In 1960, the name was changed to Port Salerno, in order to differentiate it from that of the Italian city.

The 1967 film Gentle Giant was partially filmed in and around Port Salerno. The only grocery store in town was P.O. Smith’s Grocery, which was housed in a small wooden building at the intersection of Snake Rd (later renamed Salerno Rd) and A1A. This grocery store was featured in the production in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, but had been transformed into a saloon before being filmed. This was because the grocery store had swinging “saloon style” doors.
